A new chapter for Good Neighbour

For those who may not have heard yet, we have some bittersweet news to share with you.

Simone, we are sad to see you leave Good Nieghbour, but we know your next chapter in Tāupo is about to begin and we pray God’s blessings on your new season at the Waiora Trust and in establishing new friends and connections down in Tāupo.

From us all here at Good neighbour… staff, volunteers and funders and sponsors of Good Neighbour….THANK YOU so much!!

The day you started, we were locking down preparing for the worst, but you have led us through those times and we are in a very good space; stronger and better positioned than ever to deliver practical support to our community so that lives, neighbourhoods and communities are transformed.

Simone, we have loved your input into our staff and creating a tight, fun and productive work place we all love to be at. From lockdown, to school lunches, community kai delivery  and establishing our Community Connection service to putting your hand up to peel onions and go the extra mile that has often gone unseen… thank you!

Your door has always been open… and even when you may have wanted to close the door on more new ideas and community initiatives, somehow you were able to empower and encourage us and turn up each day and do the behind the scenes support to make it happen.

We have loved your time with us, even if it has been too short. We wish you all the best for your transition to Tāupo, but don’t forget…”you have been Good Neighboured!”… you will be great.

Aroha atu, aroha mai. Tātou i a tātou katoa.
Give love, receive love and let it bind us all together.

As we say goodbye to Simone, we get ready for our new chapter. The interviews with candidates for our general manager role have been completed and we will announce our new GM shortly. Watch this space!
