8,000 kilos of delicious golden kiwifruit have been devoured by Good Neighbour recipients over the last months.
Thanks to the collaboration between Good Neighbour, Mpac packhouse and Zespri, we’ve been able to distribute amazing quality kiwifruit within the Bay of Plenty, with some of it going as far as Rotorua.
Kiwifruit gold, also known as SunGold, is very popular and loved by most. Did you know that SunGold kiwifruit is naturally high in vitamin C? It has more than 3X the vitamin C of oranges. It’s also a low calorie sweet treat with just 79 kcal per 100 g. With these amazing health benefits, it’s good to know that the community is getting nutritious food.
If the kiwifruit was laid end to end, 8000 kilos would add up to 64 kilometres! That’s a row of kiwifruit from Tauranga all the way to Cambridge!
