Many hands make light work

‘’A thriving metropolis at the bottom of 15th Ave’’ is how many describe Good Neighbour; they are not wrong.

Our dedicated team of 140 food rescue volunteers who receive and sort food from supermarkets, distributors, local markets, and cafes, have distributed a whopping 147,377kgs to 70 charities over the past quarter: an average of 49,000kgs per month. This food is good enough to eat, but not good enough to sell.

Our wonderful volunteers, their many hands, and beautiful hearts contribute to supporting, on average 5,000 people weekly with rescued food. The team here at Good Neighbour is humbled by the time, effort, and commitment from each volunteer, in ensuring the well-being of our community.

If you would like to be a part of the Good Neighbour family, make new connections, and have a sense of purpose, we’d love to hear from you. Never forget, ‘’Volunteers don’t get paid, not because they’re worthless, but because they’re priceless’’.
