Food for Thought Rescued Food Festival –
Tauranga’s sustainability image has taken a massive leap with the announcement that the Bay of Plenty will host New Zealand’s biggest Rescued Food Festival.
On March 23rd
Good Neighbour will join forces with Te Aranui Trust to raise funds and celebrate what we do with a rescued food festival.
The event will be held at the downtown container centre CBD and in the neighbouring car park “Our Place” from 10am –3pm. We are envisioning about 2500 people through on the day.
It will feature all day entertainment and activities including a corporate challenge with local restaurant Chefs from Somerset Cottage, Halo, Clarence, Robert Harris, and The Bistro. Nomad and Mount Bistro – they will be teamed up with Countdown, Pack and Save Cameron Road, Brookfield New World and Synergy Technologies.
Come and sample street food made from local rescued food by these top Chefs and their Corporate team and Toi Ohomai hospitality students . All food will be $5 and the competition will be fierce to see who sells the most and takes away the winners trophy!
There will be Kids SYD workshops, Zespri Smoothie Bikes, Soaps, Chutneys, Jams, Face painting and the team from Burger Burger will also be selling $5 burgers and Raffles and various prizes. Mark from the Breeze will be there to MC the day too. Entry Fee: Gold coin entry on the day
